Developing a pay-as-you-go scheme for solar energy

Osmar Pacheco, Internship, Mozambique

This three-month internship was carried out by Sustainable Energy Technology student Osmar Pacheco at the Mozambique office of SolarWorks!, a Dutch company focused on providing solar electricity solutions to households in southern Africa. The focus of the internship was developing both the technical and financial aspects of a pay-as-you-go system for SolarWorks! Pay-as-you-go schemes can increase the affordability of a solar home system for its users by allowing users to stagger the purchase costs of a system.
