Strategic Niche Management as a Tool for Agricultural Innovation

Joaquin Corella Puente, thesis, Mexico

This research project, carried out by Sustainable Energy Technology graduate student Joaquin Corella Puente, compares the distinct development trajectories of three agricultural technologies for small dairy farmers to find which factors are of importance to technology acceptance. The fieldwork for this project was carried out in northern Mexico with support from CIAD, a Mexican non-governmental organization concerned with the development of the food sector in Mexico. The results of this research show that, in order to increase technology acceptance and a sense of technological ownership, it is important to include the users in the process of technological development.
